時代箪笥／庄内衣裳箪笥 [j1190]【 Shonai clothing chest -Japanese antique furniture】

「明治三拾九年六月新調」の墨書が残る庄内衣裳箪笥。欅の流れる様な杢目と重厚な錠前金具が存在感を放つ一棹です。下段は引き出しのみで構成され、開き戸無く、シンプルなデザインだからこそ、木材と鉄、漆、それぞれに意匠や手掛けた職人の技量が際立ちます。

細かな傷はございますが100年以上の年月を経ているとは思えない程の良い状態。上下段に分けられるので横並びや別々にご使用いただく事も、別途スタンドをご注文頂く事も可能です。スタンドについてはお気軽にお問合せ下さい。

This Shonai kimono chest is ink inscribed with the words “Newly made in June of Meiji 39(1906).” The flowing grain of the zelkova wood and the heavy metal fittings give this piece a strong presence. The lower section consists solely of drawers, with no doors, and it is precisely because of this simple design that the craftsmanship of the wood, iron, and lacquer stands out.

There are some minor scratches, but it is in excellent condition considering it is over 100 years old. It can be divided into upper and lower sections, so it can be used side by side or separately, and a separate stand (iron legs) can also be ordered.
