右上の小抽斗の底板には”山形県羽後国飽海郡酒田町大字筑後町～の墨書き有。酒田地方は江戸時代から北前船の交易で富を成し、”西の堺、東の酒田”と謳われたほど栄え、豪奢な衣裳箪笥や船箪笥も多く作られた地域。

こちらは大きく流れる様な欅の杢目が美しい小箪笥。赤味を帯びた漆で仕上げられた風貌は当時の豊かさを思わせます。時代箪笥ならではの閂錠や小開きも付き、明治の箪笥を今に使う愉しさを味わえます。

更にスタンドで高さを出し、現代の生活でも使いやすいサイズに仕立てました。奥行きも30ｃｍ以下で限られたスペースにも置きやすいサイズ感。また、施錠金具は鍵なしで動かすことが出来、普段使いにもお勧めです。

Antique small chest of drawers with “Sakata-cho, Akumi-gun, Ugonokoku, Yamagata ” written in ink on the bottom of the drawer. In those days, this area was known as “Sakai(OSAKA) in the west and Sakata in the east” and enjoyed enormous wealth from the shipping industry from the 17th to 19th centuries. This chest of drawers, made of beautifully grained zelkova wood and finished in vermilion lacquer, is a reminder of the prosperity of those days. The metal stand increases the height of the chest and makes it convenient for use in modern homes. With a depth of less than 30 cm, it is perfect for small spaces. It can be easily opened without a key, making it ideal for everyday use.
