明治時代の仙台衣裳箪笥。

力強い華やかな飾り錠前と、シンプルながらも曲線の美しい取手のバランスが良いデザインです。

錠前金具には生命力と繁栄を表す唐草と、高貴や長寿をの象徴の菊が施され、大きく流れる様な杢目の欅材が贅沢に使用されています。重厚感のある堂々とした佇まいの箪笥です。

A Sendai clothing chest from the Meiji period.

The design is well-balanced between the strong and gorgeous decorative lock and the simple but beautiful curved handles.

The lock fittings are decorated with arabesques, which represent vitality and prosperity, and chrysanthemums, which symbolize nobility and longevity. This chest of drawers has a stately and dignified appearance.
